Considered at the beginning of the century for its sardine fishing port, Safi is a seaside town located on the Atlantic coast. The city is known by surfers as one of the best spots in Morocco today. Its geographical place confers it an abundance of clay, essential in its realization of potteries. Safi offers to tourists a rich and varied heritage, as the first Moslem mosque of the Kingdom or the Portuguese vestiges dating from its commercial past. We shall particularly remember the Almohade Minaret or its sea castle.
